NUESTRA PEQUEÑA, GRAN FAMILIA / OUR Great LITTLE FAMILY
La Casita is far more than just a nursery; it is in fact, a ‘great little family’ with a strong community feel where children, families and ‘profes’ work together towards creating a truly unique experience for our young people.
We get together often and keep in touch with our families well beyond their time with us.
Fixed events include a Christmas party, an Easter get together -usually for an Easter Egg Hunt- and a Summer Picnic. All events are open to current and former families and provide an excellent opportunity to meet friends in a relaxed environment. Families create strong bonds which grow and continue on most occasions, well after moving to school.
We look forward to welcoming your family into ours.
Children with Cancer Fund (CWCF)
This is a charity very close to our hearts as our eldest son was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour aged seven. CWCF provided us with the day to day help we needed as a family with a child with cancer.
The links created with two of their founders, Chris and Ursula and with other families, remain strong and La Casita continues to fundraise for this amazing charity in different ways.
Bon Accord Nursing Home
La Casita’s pre-school children visit our ‘abuelitos’ every fortnight. These visits are proving to be invaluable for all involved, full of smiles and laughter. Both generations share their love for arts and music through engaging activities.
Children also visit those residents who are in their rooms, unable to join us, showing them their works or telling them what they’ve just done. It is always a very well received visit.
SUPPORTING STUDENTS AND VOLUNTEERS
At La Casita we strongly believe in creating a welcoming atmosphere right from the word go. That obviously includes students and volunteers who choose to join our team. Supporting, training and mentoring the team, grows their love and professionalism towards educating new young generations.
Students and volunteers are included in our day to day, inviting them to lead activities with children and making the most of their individual strengths, these being in areas such as music, languages, SEN, sports…
